FAQ
Questions we get a lot.
What counts as a "developer" for Pro pricing?
Any person whose code is scanned by Lintel in a given billing month. Security engineers, auditors, and read-only reviewers do not count.
Do I have to pay to evaluate Pro?
No. Every new organization gets a 30-day Pro trial with all packs and AI triage enabled. We will not require a credit card to start.
Is Community free forever?
Yes. The Community tier is free for commercial and non-commercial use, forever. No seat limit — only the paid features are gated.
Can I self-host Pro and Enterprise?
Yes. Self-hosted is the default deployment for every tier. SaaS is on the roadmap but always optional.
How are licenses enforced?
Licenses are Ed25519-signed blobs bound to your tenant. Lintel verifies them locally — there is no phone-home call. Expired licenses continue to scan but stop loading gated packs.
Can I bring my own AI provider credits?
Yes. You supply the API key. Lintel encrypts it at rest with AES-256-GCM and only calls the provider endpoint you configure.
Do you offer academic or open-source pricing?
Yes. Registered non-profits, academic institutions, and OSS projects get Pro at no cost. Email sales@lintelcode.dev.
